BIRTH CERTIFICATE
In order to register the birth of an individual, this procedure may be requested at a Colombian Consulate abroad.
Requirements:
· Presence of the informant and/or person to be registered.
· Original of the Certificate of Live Birth or Civil Registration of the person to be registered. The certificate or registration shall be from the place where the birth occurred.
· Identification of the parents: If Colombians, the original Colombian identity card; and a photocopy of same in separate sheets.
· If one of the parents holds another nationality, the valid passport and a copy of same.
· Blood certificate showing type and RH factor of the person to be registered.
Fee: This service is free of charge; however, other Consular fees related to the issue of copies are payable.
Place where the service may be requested: At the Colombian Consulates abroad during the business hours of each Consulate. These may found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Directory
