How to apply for a VISA?
WHO MUST APPLY FOR A VISA?
- The visa application and process shall be directly submitted by the foreigner or by the legal entity to which he/she renders his/her services, or which sponsors him/her, or by its legal representative, or through a proxy.
- In the event that the application is made through a proxy, it should include the corresponding power of attorney granted before the relevant authority, he/she must appear personally with the corresponding identity document at the pertinent visas office.
HOW TO APPLY ONLINE FOR A VISA?
1. Read this document: (http://www.cancilleria.gov.co/en/procedures_services/visas) to obtain information on types of visa and their codes. You will need the code to complete the application.
2. Complete the online application found here:
https://tramitesmre.cancilleria.gov.co/tramites/enlinea/solicitarVisa.xhtml
3. Scan the documents supporting your application and upload a photo (low resolution)
4. Print the receipt
5. Visit the Consulate to pay the study of your visa (application fee) money orders ONLY.
6. You will receive an email on the decision regarding the application. If approved, you must visit the Consulate to pay the visa fees (money orders ONLY) and have the visa stamped on your passport. DO NOT FORGET to bring your passport.
