Los Embajadores de la Alianza del Pacífico invitan a Irlanda a mirar hacia Latinoamérica
Dublín (abr. 27/21). La Embajadora de Colombia en Irlanda, Patricia Cortés, y sus colegas de Chile, México y Perú se dirigieron al Institute of International & European Affairs (IIEA) para hablar del bloque de integración latinoamericana que equivale a la 8va economía del mundo y representa un mercado de más de 230 millones de habitantes.
El panel virtual denominado “The Pacific Alliance: 10 years of successful regional integration in Latin America” destacó los importantes avances de esta iniciativa regional, no solo en materia económica y comercial, sino también en armonización regulatoria, iniciativas sociales y de cooperación.
En su intervención, la Embajadora Cortés resaltó las oportunidades que puede tener Irlanda en su relacionamiento con la Alianza en materia de cooperación, especialmente para la diversificación de mercados y en destinos de inversión, de cara a los retos que impone el BREXIT.
El evento contó con un mensaje del Alto Representante de la Unión Europea para Asuntos Exteriores, Josep Borrel, quien destacó el importante papel del mecanismo, y la necesidad de continuar estrechando lazos con Europa.
The Ambassadors of the Pacific Alliance invite Ireland to look towards Latin America
Dublin (April 27, 2021). The Ambassador of Colombia to Ireland, Patricia Cortés, and her colleagues from Chile, Mexico and Peru addressed the Institute of International & European Affairs (IIEA) to talk about the Pacific Alliance, the integration mechanism equivalent to the 8th economy in the world, which represents a market of more than 230 million inhabitants.
The Webinar “The Pacific Alliance: 10 years of successful regional integration in Latin America” highlighted the important advances of this regional initiative, not only in economic and commercial issues, but also in regulatory harmonization, social and cooperation initiatives.
In her speech, Ambassador Cortés highlighted the opportunities that Ireland may have in its relationship with the Alliance in terms of cooperation, especially for the diversification of markets and investment destinations in the face of the challenges imposed by BREXIT.
The event featured a message from the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrel, who highlighted the important role of the mechanism, and the need to continue strengthening ties with Europe.
